Wow it's twixmas time! What to do for twixmas.. here are the traditions of good ol' twixmas.

What is twixmas, and why is it called twixmas?

Twixmas is a combination of an old english word betwixt with Christmas. Betwixt means 'between,' so this rather weird period typically is referred to the time between December 26th and December 31st. Twixmas is also known to be dead week, or feral week- where people tend to relax.

Words describing what twixmas is

That Strange Week Between Christmas and New Year’s

I'm there too... that weird space and time between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s an in-between zone where days blur together, routines are forgotten, and the world feels like it’s on pause. The holiday leftovers are still in the fridge, the decorations are still twinkling, but the energy feels... different. It’s a moment for reflection, rest, and maybe a little bit of aimless wandering through time. Work seems optional, resolutions aren’t quite ready to kick in, and somehow, you’re never sure what day it actually is. But perhaps that’s the beauty of it—this fleeting pause allows us to breathe, recharge, and prepare for the new chapter ahead. So, embrace the weirdness, savor the quiet, and let this liminal week work its magic. We don't have to make this time weird, we can do things to change up the pace or absolutely do fucking nothing! It's your choice.

If you’re wondering what to do with yourself in that weird ass in-between time after Christmas and before New Year’s—fondly known as Twixmas—don’t worry, my friend in the picture said we’ve got you covered. Whether you want to relax, organize, or simply make the most of your downtime, here are 10 productive and enjoyable things you could be doing

10 Things you can Do During Twixmas

  1. Declutter Your Space: Use this lull to tidy up your home, donate unused items, or organize that junk drawer you’ve been ignoring. Declutter doesn't have to just mean what I just referred too... You can also declutter your mind.
  2. Plan Your New Year Goals: Take some time to reflect on the past year and set realistic, actionable goals for the next one. Don't over do it! Pick a few goals you really want to achieve! Don't create a list of new years resolutions that you know damn well your not going to adhere to- or choose to many goals that will overwhelm you.
  3. Catch Up on Reading: Relax with a book you’ve been meaning to read or dive into something new and inspiring. Try listening to a podcast or do something outside of your norm to change up the energy.
  4. Unplug and Rest: Give yourself permission to unwind, take naps, and recharge before the new year starts. Use this time as a break from life! It's ok to just chill and relax, relate, and release!😂
  5. Try a New Recipe: Experiment in the kitchen with ingredients you have on hand or create something festive to keep the holiday spirit alive. You don't have to be a great cook, hell- you don't have to know how to cook at all! Just be creative! Or watch a recipe on YouTube or look up one you would like to try. Don't make trying new things difficult. You don't have to be perfect at it! It's always about experimentation...
  6. Connect with Loved Ones: Reach out to family or friends you didn’t get to see over the holidays. A quick call or video chat goes a long way. But if this will only cause you mixed feelings or make betwix even weirder- don't do it. Do what makes this time easier and where it flows smoothly without complication.
  7. Get Outside: Take a brisk walk, hike, or simply enjoy some fresh air to break up the indoor downtime. Bundle tf up and catch some of that great quality air. It could clear your mind.
  8. Binge Watch (Guilt-Free): Indulge in your favorite shows or movies without the pressure of having to be anywhere else.
  9. Reflect and Journal: Write down your thoughts, memories, or just gratitude for the little moments from the year. Clearing your mind is essential to good mental health. The clutter of our mind makes life seem worse then it may actually be.
  10. DIY Projects or Hobbies: Pick up a creative project, learn something new, or revisit a hobby you haven’t had time for lately. Its always good to get back to what makes you you. Working, the kids, or school and every day life can consume the best of us- and we forget or don't make time for the things that make us uniquely us, or we don't do things we enjoy anymore... So use this time to do exactly that!

Twixmas is the perfect opportunity to find balance between relaxation and productivity. Make it count with these simple yet meaningful activities! Again don't make this too hard... It's a moment to just be in the moment! So just be in the damn moment!

Suggested things to do from me to you:

If your a man and none of the other things interested you above here's what you can do to kill time.

  • Play video games for free online
  • Play games you haven't played in a while that you enjoy.
  • Materbate!😂 That can be very relaxing and it releases endorphins that happy drug- plus masterbation has great health benefits that I will discuss at a later time.
  • Makeup with your girlfriend or wife for being a jackass even if you weren't being a jackass so you can get some of that good-good or at least live in harmony- if you don't make up with him or her your betwix time will be miserable.. remember Happy wife, happy life or in some cases happy husband, good lovin' that is for the LGBTQ community.
